Tweetsie Discussions

As most of you know, the High Country experienced a strong dose of winter weather during an ice and snow storm in December. Here at Tweetsie Railroad, we are happy to report the park didn’t suffer any major damage, but we will miss some of our favorite trees.

“I visited Tweetsie as a kid in the early 70's. I am so thrilled to have found it thriving! I would love to take my kids for a visit.”

I returned to my home next to Tweetsie for Christmas with 6 adults, 3 babies and 2 dogs. All went wonderful playing in the snow for the first time and making a giant snow man. Until the electric went off - we had food and cooked out on the summer kitchen but no water to wash the dished, babies or our self!! After three days we left BUT the children were very upset becasue they did not here the tweetsie train and thought the snow and ice had hurt it. They did not want to leave until I convienced them that the train was inside and saft!!!! Oh the minds of small children are just great.

I am really enjoying this blog! It is so great hearing what’s done to keep the park going. I love Tweetsie, so it’s a real treat to read this. I’m really glad to hear the park didn’t suffer any major damage. I hope we’ll hear what’s going on in the locomotive shop soon. I’m really looking forward to seeing #12 and #190 in action this year!
